Welcome to the League of Friends for the John Taylor Hospice

The League of Friends for John Taylor Hospice is a Birmingham based charity made up of volunteers working to raise funds for the Hospice’s patients and their carers.

It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014 and during that time, it has raised millions of pounds through events, sales of merchandise and other forms of fundraising.

The John Taylor Hospice is one of the oldest in the UK and has been  providing palliative (end of life) care  for patients in Birmingham and The West Midlands for over 100 years.

The work of the League of Friends depends on the wonderful commitment of its volunteers and their selfless work carried to raise much needed funds.

The Friends are looking for volunteers to support its vital work and suggest new and innovative ideas for fundraising.

League of Friends For John Taylor Hospice shared Cancer Research UK's photo. ...

"These photos were taken in November last year, when I was going through the various x-rays, scans and biopsies to confirm my Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis. The day after my 34th birthday I had my hickman line fitted, and my first chemotherapy was three days before Christmas. Fast forward six months, my hair is thinner and I've gained weight due to the steroids. I'm now in remission and looking forward to a nice holiday away to help me recover." Clare shared her #CancerRightNow to help others going through cancer in any way she can. Whether you're looking back on your own experience, about to start treatment or doing something amazing to raise money, we want to hear your story.
