Welcome to the League of Friends for the John Taylor Hospice

The League of Friends for John Taylor Hospice is a Birmingham based charity made up of volunteers working to raise funds for the Hospice’s patients and their carers.

It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014 and during that time, it has raised millions of pounds through events, sales of merchandise and other forms of fundraising.

The John Taylor Hospice is one of the oldest in the UK and has been  providing palliative (end of life) care  for patients in Birmingham and The West Midlands for over 100 years.

The work of the League of Friends depends on the wonderful commitment of its volunteers and their selfless work carried to raise much needed funds.

The Friends are looking for volunteers to support its vital work and suggest new and innovative ideas for fundraising.

Hi Ray,

I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch. I believe you may have helped us spread the word when we were looking for Volunteers in Birmingham last year, so I thought I would drop you a wee note again.

I am one the Producers on Trust Me team and we have just started filming our 7th series, so we are heading out, all over the country finding answers to the most current health questions and exploring the truth behind the headlines.

As always we are working with incredible academic institutions to make sure we are also exploring the latest developments in health science. Which brings us back to Aston Uni in Brimingham to work with Professor James Brown on the question “What in our day to day diet could actually be making us hungrier!”.

We are looking to recruit 20 lovely people from Birmingham to take part in our ground breaking week long study which starts on the 28th of July. This item is going to be presented by Michael Mosely and be the biggest item in its episode. It’s going to be really fun opportunity for anyone who is interested in health related topics… and hopefully will have some very surprising results.

I was hoping that you may be able to share our attached flyer, which has all the information of how to apply, amongst your members /staff (and even friends and family) to see if anyone would be interested?

If you need any other information please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks

Sally
